Message from Ari, the baker

My mission is making the best version of any pastry, and feeding people.

I’m a full-time researcher: it’s in my nature to understand the science behind anything, and experiment until perfection.

Combine that with my biggest passion, baking, and you get a powerful weapon!

I started by giving away free boxes of sweets just for the joy of feeding people, and hearing their feedback:
one day, I literally asked a bunch of Instagram followers in Japan to tell me when their birthday is, and to request any dessert they wanted. So I marked my calendar, and for a year, I sent customized boxes of baked goods to each of those people.

They sent me pictures, videos of their kids enjoying my cookies, thank you messages and gifts... Hearing about how much they loved my sweets gave me an immense sense of fulfilment.

I used that as a precious opportunity to improve, and as fuel that motivated me to create something bigger.

So here is ARI BAKES!

But what's special about it?

As Italians living in Japan, we deeply miss the decadent, rich, flavorful western sweets and sourdough breads. That’s exactly what we do:

  • Italian sweets people don’t find in Japan
  • Satisfying, MOIST, intense western cakes and pastries
  • MAMMA’S SOURDOUGH FOCACCIA! Oh her focaccia.. a tall, fluffy, tender focaccia you just want to stuff your mouth with every day. We were trained by her, and perfected the recipe 🫶

Nothing matters more than your feedback:

Although I am confident you will love everything...

If you are not 100% satisfied by any of my creations, I have not fulfilled my mission: PLEASE let me know so I can improve, and make it up to you!

And I still love to take requests! So if there’s anything you’ve been craving, feel free to head over to our Instagram page and either vote in stories polls or just DM us for a chance to decide one of the next pop-up or monthly box items!
